Kalimantan Barat
West Kalimantan is a province on the island of Borneo, officially established on January 1, 1957, with Pontianak as its capital — the only city in the world located directly on the Equator. Known as the 'Province of a Thousand Rivers', the region is home to vast tropical forests, major river systems such as the Kapuas River, and abundant natural resources. Its population is ethnically diverse, consisting of Dayak, Malay, Chinese, Madurese, and other groups who live harmoniously with their cultural traditions. The province's economy relies on agriculture, plantations, forestry, mining, and cross-border trade with Malaysia.
